Barbara Miron (Founder CSJ, Hip Hop, Street Jazz, Fitness, Personal Training) I started in the Fitness Industry in 1986 as an assistant manager at a health club. At the same time, I became very passionate and dedicated to my teaching career, for both fitness and dance. Along the way I took classes and training in Anatomy, Nutrition, Exercise Programming and Design, and Injury Prevention to name a few. . Since then I have been working full time, combining personal and group fitness with dance and community involvement. I founded Community Street Jam in 1989, because I believed that I could create long-term relationships with the families in my community through my dance and fitness programs and make a positive impact in their lives.
My education includes a BA Degree from UC Berkeley in Psychology, Besides my general studies, I focused on Attachment, Lifespan, and Buddhist theories of Psychology.
After many years of working full time in the Fitness Industry, I wanted to provide my Community with an alternative to the large “Big Box” corporate gym experience. I believe I have succeeded beyond my wildest dreams with Community Street Jam! |

Christine Ramos (U-Jam Fitness)
Christine discovered her love for music at the age of 8. She played the piano and violin, and then discovered her natural talent for singing. Growing up, she took the lead in two different singing groups. And in more recent years, took the lead in Hula Halau O’Makalapua’s band in San Bruno, CA. The halau became her life, being the lead singer and a member of the Advanced Hula group. It wasn’t until her active involvement with this group that she realized she wanted to dance at every waking moment. With dancing, she became more confident, was able to express herself through song in a different way, and loved the way that it engaged people. This led to a desire to teach, reach out, and share her gift with others. Christine loves various types of dance including Zumba, jazz, hip-hop and Bollywood.
She has found her calling with U-Jam Fitness because it combines all of these types of dance into one format. “U-Jam is not only fun, but is music and energy driven and that’s what is so gratifying about it. In U-Jam, we let the music drive us. Just take my class and you’ll see what I’m talking about.” She is a passionate instructor and believes that “getting your fitness on” should be a party, not a chore.
